Hidden Valley's Grady Johnson easily won the boys' discus with a personal-best throw of 124 feet, 3 inches, at Tuesday's Three Rivers Roundup track and field meet in Merlin. He also won the shot put with a personal-best throw of 50-0.

Rogue River's Reagan Alden won three events and Hidden Valley's Mattix Embury, Presley Noga and Grady Johnson won two apiece at the Three Rivers Roundup track and field meet Tuesday in Merlin.
Alden won the girls' 300-meter hurdles in 53.81 seconds and the pole vault, clearing nine feet. She also took the long jump at 15-3.

A man who was shot and wounded by a Josephine County sheriff's deputy Tuesday is expected to survive and face criminal charges, Sheriff Dave Daniel said.
"Charges absolutely are pending," Daniel said.
Oregon State Police are in charge of investigating the shooting, which occurred just after noon outside the O'Brien County Store in O'Brien, south of Cave Junction. Read More »
